Overtime is taxed as employment income in the UK. This calculator shows how much of your overtime you keep after income tax and National Insurance deductions.

How It Works

Overtime is added to your salary and taxed at your marginal rate through PAYE. The tax deducted from overtime depends on which income tax band it falls in: - Basic rate (20%): income between £12,570 and £50,270 - Higher rate (40%): income between £50,270 and £125,140 - Additional rate (45%): income above £125,140 National Insurance is also deducted at 8% (up to £50,270) or 2% (above £50,270).
